Testing out Thomas- Inflatable and Remote controlled!

As you may know my eldest Hayden is pretty Thomas the tank obsessed and spends lots of time playing with his many Thomas trains of all sorted sizes.

We have been lucky enough to have been sent an inflatable remote controlled Thomas from Bladez Toyz for Hayden to try and review! Needless to say he was super excited as soon as he saw Thomas on the box!

Personally I was a bit sceptical about the idea of an inflatable and remote controlled toy, but it’s actually a pretty cool and nifty design and Mike and I were both pretty impressed with it!

It was really easy to set up, you just simply inflate the Thomas by blowing it up, add the batteries, and off you go…This is great as there is nothing worse that an over-excited and impatient toddler whilst you are frantically trying to assemble unnecessarily complicated toys!

The remote control is simple in design with just 2 buttons; a forward and a turn button. This was great as not overwhelming for Hayden’s age.  It did take him awhile to understand that it was a remote control and to begin with kept to pushing it along instead. Though mind you he was still perfectly happy with that! He still can’t quite get the hang of turning it round when it gets stuck in a corner yet, and does get a bit frustrated when this happens.  But in a way I’m quite happy about that as it means he will grow into a bit, giving this toy a bit more longevity.

One thing I would say about it is that it works better on carpet than our wooden floors and because it’s so lightweight tends to veer easily from one side or another. Using it on the carpet helped with this and meant that it was much easier for Hayden to direct it where he wanted Thomas to go with the control.

It can be easily deflated if you need more space, again this is quite a positive for us, as most of the time our house looks a bit like Toys R Us threw up in it and space is often at a premium!

I was concerned that it would deflate easily with use and I would constantly be having to re-inflate it but this hasn’t been the case at all and it’s definitely more robust than I had imagined.

In summary, I would say this is a Great present for any Thomas fan and nice to see something a bit different on the market too! If you are interested in this they are available at Toys R us on the following link;

    I need this in my life. Macsen isn’t a huge fan of Thomas anymore but I’m sure he would absolutely love this. 🙂

    I love the fact that this is inflatable and remote controllable which means it can’t cause much damage with a toddler in control of it around the house!

    It is great that the Thomas is more robust than you would have imagined and fantastic that it worked well on the carpet. Thomas is a cult classic!

    Oh yeah! My little one would love that and it is not too difficult to set up lol. I reckon I could play with it myself too

    Ooh, this is is different. We have a Thomas fan who is also just getting into remote controlled toys. My only worry is it popping! Love the idea you can deflate and reinflate, that’s a great feature!

    My kids aren’t in to Thomas and his friends, but this looks like a lot of fun!
